Working with Older Clients: resilience through connection and meaning

  • Awareness in Action Online (map)

About This Event

Later life can bring significant change, including retirement, bereavement, health challenges, changing relationships and shifts in identity and purpose. Building resilience is not simply about coping with adversity, but also about developing the resources that help us maintain wellbeing and thrive.

This interactive workshop explores resilience and wellbeing in later life, with a particular focus on the importance of building and strengthening wellbeing capital — the personal, relational and emotional resources we can draw on when facing life’s challenges.

Participants will consider how counsellors and therapists can support older clients to recognise their strengths, build connection and meaning, develop self-compassion, and invest in the resources that support wellbeing over time.
